In her own words. Humaira moved to the United States in 2024 and starts at Connecticut College this fall.
My name is Humaira and I was born and raised in Kabul, Afghanistan. I was in 10th grade when the Taliban took over and was no longer able to continue my studies in my home country. Through hard work and determination, I earned a full scholarship to attend Berkshire Waldorf High School in Massachusetts.
I moved to the United States in 2024 and graduated from high school in June 2026. This fall, I will attend Connecticut College, where I plan to major in Political Science. In the future, I hope to become a lawyer and use my education to help people who need support and advocacy.
